How we measure
NavegaMU compares MU Online servers that run in the browser. Here is everything that goes into the calculation, so you know how much you can trust each number.
What gets listed
A MU Online server open to the public that runs in a browser tab, without installing the game. A server that only runs through a client or APK stays out until it launches a browser version. Games that are only inspired by MU stay out too.
Servers from any country are listed. Each server's country is the one of its main community: site language, event times and shop currency. When we cannot identify a main country, it shows under "Other countries".
How the list is ordered: the NavegaMU Index
Each server gets a score from 0 to 100, built only with numbers the server owner does not control. The online player count the server publishes is shown in the list but is not part of the score: any site can inflate that number, and a ranking that depended on it would reward whoever lies.
| Part | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Choices on NavegaMU | 40 | Different people who clicked Play for this server in the last 30 days. Each person counts once a day. Clicks from bots and from datacenter networks (cloud, VPS, hosting) do not count. We only keep a scrambled code, never the IP address. |
| Community | 25 | Average number of people online on the server's Discord over the last 7 days, read every one or two hours from the public invite. Discord does the counting. A server without a public Discord gets the middle value of the list, with no gain or loss. |
| Stability | 20 | In how many of our checks, every 10 minutes, the site was up over the last 30 days (70% of this part) and how long the server has existed, up to 90 days (30%). |
| Complete info | 15 | How many of 12 key details the server reports: season, EXP, reset, reset points, helper, off-attack, auto-reset, resets in place, VIP type, mobile, PvP and Discord. |
Choices and community use a logarithmic scale: going from 0 to 10 is worth more than going from 100 to 110. That way, an inflated number gains very little.
While the site is new and has few visits, choices weigh less and grow gradually up to 40 points, when the month adds up to 200 choices across the whole site. Until then, the rest is split among the other parts in the same proportion. This keeps three clicks from deciding first place.
You can re-sort by EXP or by newest and filter by what you want. Positions are not for sale. If there is ever a paid highlight, it will be marked as sponsored and will not change the order. Each server page shows its score and how much each part added.
EXP styles
We use the average EXP from level 1 to 400. With dynamic EXP, which drops as the level goes up, we use the average weighted by level ranges: x100 up to 149, x50 up to 249, x45 up to 349 and x35 up to 400 gives an average of 65x.
| Style | Average EXP |
|---|---|
| Hard | up to 30x |
| Medium | 31x to 199x |
| Fast | 200x to 999x |
| Super | 1000x or more |
Where each piece of data comes from
- Measured: whether the site is up (every 10 minutes), Discord online count (every one or two hours) and the choices made here. The server's online count is also read every 10 minutes, but the server is the one reporting it.
- Checked: we tested it in the game, with a date.
- Declared: the server says it on its site, guides, rules or official channel. Each server page lists the pages we took the data from.
- "?": the server does not say it anywhere. We prefer "?" to guessing.
Limits of the online count
It is the number the server publishes, and that is why it does not order the ranking. It counts connected characters, not people, and on servers with off-attack it includes characters hunting alone after the player left. We show it because it gives an idea of activity, always noting that it was reported by the server. When the number is far out of pattern, it shows as "under review".
